Umbau punktuell: Einzelschwellentausch im Kosovo
Der jüngste Zuwachs im Maschinenpark von Infrastructure of Kosovo Railways - Infrakos - ist die Schwellenwechselmaschine SWM 15. Erst seit 2016 im Einsatz, bewährt sie sich bereits bei der Revitalisierung der Bahnlinien zwischen Serbien und Mazedonien.
Upgrade vom Fließband – das ökologische Verfahren
Nordwestlich von Hamburg wurde die Bahnstrecke nach Cuxhaven abschnittweise saniert. Planumsverbesserung, Bettungsreinigung, Schienen- und Schwellenwechsel sowie gründliche Durcharbeitung der Strecke gehörten zu den Aufgaben, die binnen drei Wochen in mehreren Bauphasen abgearbeitet wurden.

Sustainability and environmental protection have become a key topic in recent years.
However, rising fuel prices, low work shift returns and high staff costs is the reality contractors have to face.
We want to help our customers work cost-efficiently and flexibly despite these conditions.
Further developments at our partner firm in the USA
Chesapeake, Virginia: here, in the main factory, our customers' machines are overhauled and upgraded to state of the art.
One of these innovations is the well-equipped assembly workshop. It is used to calibrate the machines' measuring systems precisely and comfortably.
First trial operations are possible on the test track located directly next to the workshop.
A new Australian tamping machine in a very special design
Aurizon's new 09-2X Dynamic.
It is the 75th Plasser & Theurer machine in operation on the lines of Queensland.
With the new machine design, the operator Aurizon pays tribute to the Aboriginal traditions of the region in which the machines will be deployed.
The work of art has been proposed and implemented by an indigenous ethnic group from central Queensland.

Handling small work sites cost-efficiently.
The ZRM 350 cleaning machine during a typical night-time operation in Switzerland. With or without track: the excavating chain always produces an exact formation.
The PA 1-20 ES single-sleeper laying system is particularly suited for new track laying on short sections of track.
Thanks to the electronic distance measurement, the machine places the sleepers on the formation fully automatically and exact to the millimetre, not only on straight sections of track but also radially in curves.
Large scale operation for the welding robot in Georgia.
APT 1500 RC rail welding robot in Georgia, proves that we have met this challenge SUCCESSFULLY over and over again. 1,200 defective welded joints on a track section of 25 kilometres: the APT 1500 RC welding robot demonstrates its strengths on the main line of the Georgian Railway between the Caspian Sea and the Black Sea.
Turnout tamping with simultaneous supply of new ballast.
In the Unimat 09-475/4S N-Dynamic we combined a universal tamping machine and supply of new ballast for the first time – with resounding success. During turnout maintenance, no separate ballast is needed. As a result, it is no longer necessary to pre-deposit ballast during additional track possessions.
And, a new wheelset press is used in our Linz factory.
A new wheelset press used here in our Linz factory, or rather, where our bogies are produced, enables these important undercarriage components to be manufactured even more precisely.

The MTW 160 - Immediate help for the overhead line system
At travelling speeds of up to 160 km/h, the MTW 160 reaches the work site fast. A distance between bogie pivots of 17 metres as well as air sprung bogies, developed for considerably higher speeds, enable safe and comfortable travel.

Mobile flash-butt welding. Some time ago, we presented a highly successful system – the APT 1500 R welding robot – that also underwent extensive practical trials in Germany.

Fully automatic control systems. For the development of this kind of software there is a separate department in our Linz factory which has been continually expanded over the past years to meet the growing requirements in this sector. The crowning achievement of our efforts is the certification awarded to this department by TÜV, the Technical Supervisory Board in Germany.

Intro
The largest international trade fair for track technology took place from 28th to 30th May, showing the innovative force in modern track maintenance. Plasser & Theurer is presenting its products under the motto: "Quality cuts costs" and emphasising once again its importance for this extremely cost-efficient branch of industry.
The iaf 2013
Over 200 exhibitors from 21 countries, around 25,000 visitors from more than 80 countries: the iaf is THE meeting place for track specialists. The opening ceremony in the exhibition centre was attended by: managers of all leading firms, the heads of the Association of German Railway Engineers and of course high-level politicians.

Mobile rail treatment
The on-track version of our fully automatic flash-butt welding method has been
in successful operation for some time. Its welding quality is certified. Now this technology is available in lorry design as the APT 1500 RL. Many visitors have seen the perfection of the welds during the live welding demonstrations in the outdoor exhibition area.
Service & Support
The worldwide service network - new, optimised original spare parts – and further developments on our user-friendly machine control – are on show here. A special attraction was the world premiere of this new, mobile 09-3D tamping simulator. It provides the convincing advantages of modern simulation technology: optimum preparation for utilising the full capacity of the machines – without any risk of damage.
Seminars
The enormous significance of the iaf lies not only in the technologies, machines and equipment on display. Also the transfer of knowledge about the latest findings from research and practical operation make an important contribution.

Overhead wire construction with the MAGE 75
Last year the Austrian company Europten ordered a new mast setting unit, the MAGE 75. Its main functions are to set and remove the typical heavy concrete masts used on Austrian Federal Railways.
New welding shops in Linz
From steel sections to machine frames: for us every welding seam is the most important. Ultimately, the cost-efficiency and safety of the machines depends to a large extent on the quality of the welding seams. That is why we set high standards here.
Track maintenance with KVP and KSP
In Japan the combination machines KVP and KSP have been performing track maintenance for many years. Usually these machines are operated behind a tamping machine and carry out ballast regulating.
Further development of the RM 802
On this new system for ballast bed cleaning the front section of the machine is responsible for cleaning the shoulders, with a separate double screening unit. The second section of the machine incorporates a high performance excavating chain and also two high capacity screening units.
Plasser Española: new business premises
Our partner firm, Plasser Española, recently opened its new business premises close to Madrid in Yuncler, near to Toledo. The factory was designed in terms of the highest energy efficiency: with geothermic energy production and optimised use of natural light.
