Since the company was founded over 70 years ago, Plasser & Theurer has been developing track maintenance technologies for the future. Over 10,000 patents have been registered since 1953, of which more than 2,500 are still valid. The figures recently published in the annual report of the Austrian Patent Office are impressive proof that the company continues to follow its guiding principle and focus on innovation: in 2023, the technology leader placed third in Austria’s national ranking.

In 2023, a total of 2,242 inventions were registered with the Austrian Patent Office, a slight increase compared to the previous year. With 31 patent and utility model applications, Plasser & Theurer, a driving force for technological progress in track maintenance for decades, ranks third in Austria.
