Over the past 20 years, Africa Rail has evolved into one of the most important rail technology exhibitions in Africa. On board were also Plasser South Africa and Plasser & Theurer.

More than 150 exhibitors, roughly 7,500 visitors and high-ranking rail representatives from numerous countries: in 2017, Africa Rail renewed its reputation as the leading expert exhibition of the region. And Plasser South Africa continued the tradition of being part of it. With a fleet of roughly 70 machines, the company is one of the most important suppliers of track maintenance services in Southern Africa. Renowned railway organisations such as the Transnet Freight Rail and Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA) appreciate the quality of work and the comprehensive range of services offered by Plasser South Africa. Plasser & Theurer joined the company for the second time as its technological partner to present the most recent technological developments and its comprehensive supply programme at the exhibition. The feedback on this joint presence at the exhibition was entirely promising.
