Urban and regional networks are particularly challenging when it comes to inspecting and measuring infrastructure. More flexibility is required in order to carry out measuring work quickly and easily on site. The Plasser InfraSpector Truck moves autonomously on roads and rails. In line with methods for measuring railway infrastructure accredited as per ISO/IEC 17025, the Plasser InfraSpector Truck is used to test railway track, a decisive factor to ensure the quality and reliability of the measurements.
This international standard specifies detailed requirements for the competence, impartiality, and consistent working method of testing laboratories to ensure reliable measuring results. The required parameters provide insight into causal relationships, tailored to the diagnostic areas of the track including subsoil, rail, turnout, and overhead contact line.
The Plasser InfraSpector Truck allows flexible options for transfer travel. After starting out on the street, it is then possible to switch to the rail running gear at a suitable location. For example, a railway crossing with a width of only 6 metres is sufficient. When travelling on track, the machine can be controlled in both directions. The data obtained is analysed and processed in the air-conditioned workroom: track geometry, the rail’s longitudinal and cross section, and structure gauge. Plasser Italiana offers measurement services throughout Europe with this vehicle.
