The fully hydraulically powered RM 85-750 is a ballast cleaning machine for operation on tracks and turnouts. The machine is built in articulated design and consists of an excavating machine coupled to a propulsion unit. Six of its eight axles (four two-axled bogies) are powered hydrostatically during transfer travel and work travel.
The drive engine and the spoil conveyor belts are mounted on the front part of the machine. The excavating chain, the screening unit, the lifting and lining unit, and the work cabin are located in the rear part. The RM 85-750 also enables placing new ballast using material conveyor and hopper units located at the rear end of the machine. To produce a perfectly straight formation, all ballast cleaning machines made in our works are equipped with a transverse chain guide of the excavating chain. It can be set exactly to the desired excavating depth and gradient.
The triple-deck screening unit of the RM 85-750 has been optimised with regard to screen angle, mesh size and vibration. It has also been equipped with large-stone separation and achieves excellent results. The automatic superelevation compensation prevents one-sided distribution of the material on the screen surfaces.
The machine is operated ergonomically using Plasser Intelligent Control 2.0. (P-IC 2.0). This machine control system combines control functions and diagnostics functions in clearly laid out touch panels. Functions that are needed constantly are operated via the usual desk and its switches, pushbuttons, potentiometers, etc.
