Ballast profiling machine for cost-effective ballast management

Resource-efficient ballast management

The new BallastMaster 410 combines all the functions required for efficient ballast management: ploughing the ballast bed shoulders, the track benches, and the ballast crown; collecting, storing, and reinserting ballast as well as sweeping it – all in a single pass. The adjacent track can remain open while working thanks to the slewing limiter on the shoulder ploughs.

The machine is ideally equipped for use both on plain-line tracks and in turnouts. The adjustable brush shaft makes it possible to sweep different types and shapes of sleepers; there is no longer any need for time-consuming brush changes. To ensure efficient use of resources, the machine is fitted with a 10 m³ hopper. Stored ballast can be placed precisely thanks to spot ballasting.

The cab has also been improved: operators can now work comfortably while seated and benefit from an improved view of the working area. With its ETCS equipment, the machine also meets TSI (Technical Specifications for Interoperability) requirements.

Plasser BallastMaster 410 – your partner in advanced ballast management

  • Resource-efficient operation and a reduction in new ballast required thanks to spot ballasting and 10 m³ hopper including floor conveyor and automatic monitoring of the filling level
  • Sweep different types of sleepers using an adjustable brush shaft without changing the brushes
  • Increase performance thanks to optimized transport of ballast into the ballast hopper
  • One-pass technology: ballasting, profiling, and sweeping in one pass
  • Comfortable working in a seated position, improved visibility of the working area, and HVAC system for optimum air conditioning in the cab
  • Active adjacent track by extending the two-part shoulder plough within the working gauge
  • Fit for the future with ETCS integration
  • Optional dust-suppression misting system for reducing dust

3D simulation tools for education and training

With better qualified staff, the performance of our machines and their productivity can be increased even further. The necessary training on real machines involves a great deal of effort, which is why we offer professional 3D simulation tools for different machine types.

The development of the BallastMaster simulator was inspired by our ballast management system with all the technologies for modern ballast profiling. It works almost like a computer game. A VR headset, a controller, and the simulation software: that is all you need to practise working and driving with Plasser & Theurer ballast regulating machines.

For more information on the individual simulators, training, and courses, please send an e-mail to training@plassertheurer.com. We are looking forward to your inquiry!
