Efficient maintenance builds on digital data
Modern machine maintenance with Plasser Datamatic
From analogue to digital, i.e. complete, maintenance management
Maintenance performed too early causes unnecessary costs. Deciding too late carries the risk of damage or even accidents. In order to plan the ideal time, operating data of the machine and its components are required, which could hardly be recorded automatically with classic systems. For this reason, it was common until now to plan on the basis of time intervals or operating hours specified by the manufacturer. The new Machine Maintenance Module based on Plasser Datamatic now provides the digital information that allows maintenance management to make data-based decisions. Thanks to continuously updated recording of the operating parameters of machines and their components, the data is available to determine the ideal time for maintenance measures.
Standard maintenance with Plasser Datamatic
The Machine Maintenance Module as a Plasser Datamatic extension marks the transition from analogue to digital maintenance management. It continues to use predefined operating hours and time intervals, but these are recorded automatically and displayed clearly and concisely in Plasser Datamatic’s Machine Maintenance Module. In addition, derived counters, such as operating times in a specific operating mode, are also possible.
Ideal maintenance planning with the digital maintenance tool
The Machine Maintenance Module, fully integrated into the Plasser Datamatic fleet management system, provides the decisive step into the future. With this individually configurable system, digital maintenance plans can be created for the first time based on specific performance parameters. Additionally, the necessary parts can be stored in service packages. Operating companies have insight into the maintenance requirements of entire fleets or individual machines at all times. They receive automatic notifications about measures which need to be carried out and can track whether this is the case.
The perfect support for ECM-compliant maintenance
The ECM system introduced in Europe for the maintenance of railway vehicles defines clear roles for the “Entity in Charge of Maintenance” (ECM) across all phases of maintenance. Roles 1-3 (overall maintenance responsibility, maintenance development, and fleet management) are now decisively supported by Plasser Datamatic’s Machine Maintenance Module.
ECM 2 and ECM 3, in particular, benefit from our solutions thanks to the reliable provision of various machine parameters. Analysis of replaced wear parts together with the information about the deployment time and environment from the machine data can provide the ECM 2 with the basic information for optimizing the maintenance programme. By processing historical operating data, the ECM 3 makes it possible to plan future maintenance even more precisely.
Your benefit:

- Clear overview of the current status of individual machines and entire fleets
- Efficient maintenance management through data-based decisions
- Digital maintenance plans are set up and service packages are illustrated
- Digital documentation of measures performed and observations
- Automated notifications for upcoming and overdue maintenance measures
- Perfect support for ECM roles 1-3
