How telemetry data supports service planning
As part of continuous product improvement and development, Plasser & Theurer has been offering a new function for supporting inspections and servicing since January 2024. The Machine Maintenance Module was developed as an extension of Plasser Datamatic and integrated into the user interface of the fleet management application.
Following the motto “Maintenance planning now digital”, the Machine Maintenance Module shall assist in various tasks of maintenance management, amongst others in the execution and documentation of maintenance activities. A core function is the possibility to digitally depict all key steps of machine maintenance and merge them with Plasser Datamatic machine data. For example, the operating hours of individual components can be stored as triggers for a servicing reminder with an appropriate early warning period. If servicing is imminent, the user is notified in the fleet management application and by email. This way, the system can be scheduled in good time for servicing activities, and activities that have been carried out can be tracked and documented with comparatively little effort. Conspicuous machine issues not related to servicing can also be recorded digitally and used as a source of information for repair planning.
This creates a “digital service book” of the system for documentation and as evidence of performed maintenance tasks.
